Eco4 – general advice on grants for retrofitting (for those on benefits)

Heat pumps

Which – general heat pump advice including specialist (cheaper) heat pump electricity tariffs

Boiler upgrade scheme – Government grants for heat pumps

Nesta – offer a tool to estimate the cost of a heat pump for your home

Microgeneration scheme – certification scheme for heat pump installers

Ground Source Heat Pump Association – lists members who install ground source heat pumps

Green energy suppliers (NB not covered by the price cap so may be more expensive)

Ecotricity – operates its own portfolio of wind & solar parks – electricity only

GEUK – offers both electricity and ‘green gas’ (biomethane)

Good Energy – invests in local generation via contracts with renewable generators and offers ‘green gas’ (10% biogas 90% offsetting)

Ripple – effectively an investment in rewnewable energy which pays (taxable) returns in the form of reduced electricity bills
